Artist - Writer Online Course : Exploring the written worlds of Leonora Carrington, Agnes Martin and Louise Bourgeois.
A lecture/workshop series that explores artists who are mostly known for their visual art but flourished with writing. Each session will start with an introduction to the artist, their work and then a focus on the texts they created. Then after a short break you will be set a short writing task influenced by that week's artist, and question to take further for prompts in your own practice.
The course will run for three weeks and we will explore the works of Leonora Carrington, Agnes Martin and Louise Bourgeois. Each of them are great artists for their visual work, but also artists who spent time writing or using words within their practice creating language art.
This series is open to all, no prior knowledge or work (written or visual art) is needed, just an interest in each topic!
Leonora Carrington - May 5th 2026 - Tuesday Evening - 6:30pm-8pm Online
Agnes Martin - May 12th 2026 - Tuesday Evening - 6:30pm-8pm Online
Louise Bourgeois - May 19th 2026 - Tuesday Evening - 6:30pm-8pm Online
£50 - For all three sessions
£18 - For single session
This course will be recorded so if you can’t make the evening session you will have the opportunity to watch again for up to a month after the session.
