Elspeth has run writing and arts workshops for a variety of ages for the last four years, working for Painting Progress, Lavender Arts, at Torriano Meeting House, Naruto Gallery, Lipton Tea Kingston, Battersea Power Station, Earls Court Development, and delivering workshops at The Drawing Room and in Tate Modern for private groups. Her work seeks to open up artistic pathways for all, creating fun open spaces.
Her most recent collaboration was with Stylist magazine, producing Erasure Poetry workshops for Stylist Live 2025 and Sunday Paper’s Live zine workshop January 2026.

Artist-Writer Series 2
Following on from Artist-Writer series one we return to look at contemporary examples of artists combining and redefining both crafts.
In the first part of this series we explored how many artists were also writers and how writing informed their visual art, focusing on Louise Bourgeois, Agnes Martin and Leonora Carrington. In this second part we focus on very contemporary examples of how writing has become entwined in art practices through the lens of Jenny Holzer, Yoko Ono, and Tracey Emin.
Each session will be an introduction to the artist, their work and their relationship to writing, finishing with writing exercises informed by each artist’s work.
Yoko Ono - October 6th - 6:30 - 8pm

All sessions are recorded and a recording will be sent after the session to those who have signed up or cannot make the session.
Human, Object, Machine
Workshop & Lecture Series looking at the representation of the ‘self’ vs technology in literature.
As our world progresses so fast, with the rise of AI and ever increasing technology this series explores how contemporary literature is tackling the self in both technology and humans. With close looking at two examples: The Employees by Olga Ravn and Jungle House by Julianne Pachico we will explore the ever developing relationship between the human, object and machine. The final session will be a writing workshop that explores these themes and how we might in our own writing.

All workshops will take place online, and extracts will be sent before each session, however if you can read the books in full it would be even more enriching, yet discussions will be focused on the extracts.

Community Workshops
Elspeth has been working for the past year with Painting Progress to deliver workshops for the Cotton Tree Trust that supports refugees and asylum seekers in London.
Being able to spend time giving and creating with community is key to Elspeth’s work, so please feel free to get in touch about how to collaborate on community led projects.
