Join online for this two part lecture and workshop series exploring artist who use narratives to create their work!
For this series we will focus in on the work of Lynette Yiadom-Boakye and Paula Rego, two stunning painters that have narratives, story telling and creativity at the heart of their processes.
Looking at these artists through the lens of using narrative as a driving force in their work bridging the gap between a writing and a visual art practice, and how narrative influences work today. Each session will also feature an Ekphrastic writing workshop/exercises at the end to respond back to the art in front of us!
Open to all who are curious about the intersection of art and writing - no experience required!
Lynette Yiadom-Boakye - Tuesday 7th April - 6:30-8pm - Online
Paula Rego - Tuesday 14th April - 6:30-8pm - Online
All sessions will be recorded for those who cannot make the evening time and recordings will be available for up to 1 month after.

Artist - Writer Online Course : Exploring the written worlds of Leonora Carrington, Agnes Martin and Louise Bourgeois.
A lecture/workshop series that explores artists who are mostly known for their visual art but flourished with writing. Each session will start with an introduction to the artist, their work and then a focus on the texts they created. Then after a short break you will be set a short writing task influenced by that week's artist, and question to take further for prompts in your own practice.
The course will run for three weeks and we will explore the works of Leonora Carrington, Agnes Martin and Louise Bourgeois. Each of them are great artists for their visual work, but also artists who spent time writing or using words within their practice creating language art.
This series is open to all, no prior knowledge or work (written or visual art) is needed, just an interest in each topic!
